PuTTY on Mac - is there?
In this article, we'll show you how to get PuTTY up and running on Mac. Since there is no OS-X version of PuTTY, you have to switch to a workaround. If this is too cumbersome for you, you can simply use the OS X SSH client in the terminal. We present you with both options.
PuTTY on the Mac: Workaround with Winebottler
Since there is no native version of PuTTY for Mac, you need to work around with a workaround:
- The Winebottler program allows you to install Windows programs on Mac. Download and install the software.
- Also download PuTTY.

PuTTY on Mac: SSH via terminal
You can use almost all the functions contained in PuTTY in the terminal. Take a look at this tutorial and this article. The commands for Ubuntu or another Linux distribution also work under OS X.
