QNAP: set up iTunes server - how it works
You can also set up an iTunes server on your QNAP NAS to enjoy your music anywhere. In this practical tip we will show you how.
Set up iTunes server on QNAP-NAS - so it'll work
- First switch to the "Control Panel" on your NAS and switch to "Applications".
- Select the "iTunes Server" from the left side and click on "Enable iTunes Server".
- Activate the checkmark at "Activate iTunes service" and wait a short time until the server has been successfully activated.
- Alternatively, you can protect access with a user name and password.
- Now open iTunes and make sure both devices are on the same network.
- Click on "Music" in the top left corner and select the QNAP-NAS from the list to use the service.
- Note: In order for the share to work, you need to activate iTunes ports.
- For better sound, you can activate the equalizer in iTunes.
