QNAP: Forgot password - you can do that
If you want to change the settings of your QNAP-NAS, you need the administrator password. If you have forgotten this, you must first reset the system. We'll tell you how this works in this practical tip.
QNAP: Reset forgotten NAS password
To restore your forgotten admin password, you need a needle or similar thin object.
- Use it to carefully press the reset button on the back of the network hard drive.
- After about three seconds you will hear a loud beep. Your NAS is now reset.
- You can now log in again with the user name "admin" and the password "admin".
- For security, you should change both directly in the NAS settings.
- Tip: Learn how to create a secure password in the video below.
If you want to access your data while on the go, you can set up remote access for your NAS.
