Calculate square meters correctly - so it'll work
If you want to find out the size of your apartment or other things, you have to calculate the area in square meters. We'll show you how it's done.
Instructions: Calculate square meters correctly
You don't need much to calculate square meters. A ruler and a calculator are enough.
- First measure the desired area. To calculate the square meters of a room, measure the length and then the width.
- If the room is 4.5 meters wide and 10 meters long, all you have to do is multiply the two numbers. The result is 4.5 x 10 = 45 square meters.
- If the surface is not completely rectangular, for example because a piece of wall protrudes into the room, you have to do a little trick. Divide the room into rectangular parts and calculate the square meters separately.
