If you want to display the source code of a website on your iPhone or iPad, you have to set up a special bookmark on your device or use an alternative browser. In this practical tip, we show you what you need to consider.
View the source code of a website in the Atomic Browser
- Download the free "Atomic Browser - Lite".
- Open the app and go to any website.
- Tap the "Sharing" icon in the top left (see screenshot).
- Then select the "View Source" item to display the source code.
View source code with bookmarks in Safari
- Open this Javascript bookmark on your iOS device.
- Mark and copy the displayed text.
- Tap the "Sharing" icon in the top left corner of the iOS Safari browser.
- Select "Bookmarks" in the pop-up menu. Then tap "Save".
- Now open your bookmarks by tapping the blue book icon in the browser bar.
- Click "Edit" below and select the bookmark you just created.
- Delete the content in the "Addresses" line and paste the copied code. Confirm with "Done" on the keyboard.
- You can now open the bookmark on a website. The source code is then displayed in a new window.
