If you need to create signs or notices in Word, you should do so in landscape format. Our tip shows you how to set the page layout in Word.
Set page layout in Word to landscape
Start Microsoft Word.
- In the top menu, select the "Page layout" tab (see screenshot).
- Then open the menu item "Alignment". The selection for "Landscape" appears here. With one click, your Word document is no longer in portrait format.
Set page layout for individual pages
You can set the orientation for individual pages in your documents. To do this, you must insert a "section break" in Word.
- You have reached the page in your document that you want to use in landscape format. Select the "Page layout" tab again.
- Open the "Breaks" item.
- To be able to set the orientation for the individual page, you have to select "Section breaks", "Next page".
- Now, as described in the first paragraph, you can set the landscape format. All of the following pages will follow this page layout.
If you open a new, empty document, the page layouts are reset to the set standard.
