Raid 0 - what is it?
If you want to speed up your PC, you will surely come across "Raid 0" during research. You can find out exactly what that is in this practical tip.
Raid 0 - what is it actually?
Raid is the abbreviation for "Redundant Array of Independent Disks", which means "redundant arrangement of independent hard disks" in German:
- A raid system is a combination of several hard drives to increase the transfer rates.
- A RAID 0 system is used when at least two hard drives are used. The focus is on speed.
- So when you save a file, it will be spread across the different hard drives. This means that all disks can work faster and access the file at the same time.
- But be careful: If a hard drive of a Raid 0 system fails, all stored data will be lost.
