Linux: Get RAM info and determine RAM
You can learn a lot about your RAM with a simple terminal command. Since the display is a bit confusing, we explain it to you in this guide.
- Open a terminal with the key combination [Ctrl] + [Alt] + [T] or select it from the list of your programs.
- Now enter the "top" command without quotation marks and confirm with [Enter].
- A list of your current processes appears, in which all information about your installed RAM is displayed in real time.
- Under "KiB Mem" you will find the total size of your working memory. Under "used" and "free" you can also see how much RAM is currently occupied or free.
