Connect Raspberry Pi to WiFi - how it works
This guide shows you how to connect your Raspberry Pi to a WLAN.
Raspberry Pi: set up WLAN - how it works
- To be able to connect your Raspberry Pi to a WLAN, you need an appropriate stick. These usually cost less than 10 euros.
- A popular WLAN stick for the Raspberry Pi is the Edimax EW-7811UN.
- Connect the stick to a USB port on the Raspberry Pi and install the netctl package. This works under APT with the command "sudo apt-get install netctl" or under Arch Linux with Pacman with the command "pacman -S netctl" in the terminal emulator.
- Then enter the term "wifi-menu" in the terminal emulator without quotation marks.
- Select the appropriate WLAN and enter your password if necessary.
- The profile is stored in the folder path etc / netctl / and can be edited later if necessary.
- The status can be checked using the "netctl status" command.
- In the CHIP kiosk you will find the Raspberry manual either as a booklet or as a PDF for immediate download and quick start.
