You can also set up your own cloud server with Nextcloud on the Raspberry Pi. In this practical tip we will show you how.
Set up Nextcloud on the Raspberry Pi - this is how you proceed
- First download using the command "sudo apt-get install apache2 php5 php5-gd php5-sqlite php5-curl php5-common php5-intl php-pear php5-apcu php-xml-parser libapache2-mod-php5 curl libcurl3 libcurl3- dev sqlite mysql-server mysql-client php5-mysql phpmyadmin -y "download the required files.
- Then change to the WWW directory with "cd / var / www /" and download the files from Nextcloud with "sudo wget //download.nextcloud.com/server/releases/latest.zip". With "sudo unzip latest.zip" you unzip the archive and "sudo rm latest.zip" then removes it.
- The command "sudo chown -R www-data: www-data / var / www / nextcloud" additionally secures the directory.
- Open the IP of your Raspberry Pi on your PC and add "/ phpmyadmin". Here you have to follow the instructions to create a MySQL database.
- Then open the files "/etc/apache2/sites-available/000-default.conf" and "/etc/apache2/sites-available/000-default-le-ssl.conf". Adjust the line "DocumentRoot / var / www / html" to "DocumentRoot / var / www / nextcloud" and add "Options + FollowSymlinks AllowOverride All" at the end.
- Then restart your web server with the command "sudo service apache2 restart".
- To set up Nextcloud, go to your page and first create an administrator account. With a click on "Storage and Database" you must also enter the MySQL data.
- Click on "Complete setup" to finish the setup and you can now use Nextcloud.
