Realtek: Uninstall driver - how it works
If you have problems with your sound card, you can solve it in most cases by uninstalling the Realtek driver. We show you step by step how to proceed.
Windows: Uninstall Realtek sound driver
- Press the [Windows] and [R] keys simultaneously so that the "Execute" command opens.
- Enter "devmgmt.msc" here and confirm with "OK". Then the device manager starts.
- The drivers you are looking for can be found under the category "Audio, Video and Game Controllers", as well as under "Audio Inputs and Outputs".
- Select the desired Realtek driver and right-click on it.
- The driver is removed via the "Uninstall" option. Repeat the steps for all other Realtek drivers.
- If you restart your computer, the drivers may be reinstalled on their own. If this is not the case, you have to open Device Manager again.
