Connect the receiver to the PC - so it'll work
If you like to play on the couch and want to enjoy surround sound, you have to connect your receiver to the PC. We explain which connection type you should use.
Connect the PC optimally to the AV receiver
If you want to connect your PC to your television or home theater system, HDMI is the measure of all things. We explain why and how to proceed.
- If you use HDMI for the connection, you only need one cable for the image and sound transmission, which saves costs and effort.
- So connect the HDMI output of your PC to a free input on your receiver.
- In the event that you do not want to permanently connect your PC, it is best to use an input on the front of your AV receiver. This is usually referred to as "AUX IN".
- Now output your picture to the HDMI output. Under Windows you can choose from four different modes with the key combination [Windows] + [P]. It would make sense if you mirror your image or only output it on HDMI.
- Now all you have to do is select the correct input on your receiver and the output from your PC will appear on your TV.
- Tip: If the picture works but no sound is transmitted, you have to change your audio output device.
