Install Spell Checker for Thunderbird
In this practical tip, we explain how to install the spell checker for Thunderbird.
Install the desired dictionaries
First, you need to install the dictionaries of the languages you want to use in Thunderbird. To install this, proceed as follows:
- Open the "Compose" window by clicking on the "Compose" button in the top left.
- Enter any word in the text field (in our example: "test").
- Click on the "Right" button
- Then click on the arrow below "Language" and select: "Download more dictionaries ..."
- Select the desired language and click on "Download dictionary" to install the desired dictionary.
Select the language for the spell check
After installing the dictionaries, you need to select the appropriate language:
- Open the "Compose" window.
- Click the arrow to the right of the "Spell Check" button and choose the language you want to use for the spell checker.
