Red Dead Redemption: Catch treasure hunters and find hidden treasures
Successful treasure hunters get rich and wealthy in Red Dead Redemption. Catch one of them and benefit from their wealth with the following tips.
Catch the treasure hunter for the first treasure map
- Before you can start your search for the nine hidden treasures, you need the first card. Another treasure hunter has it with you, whom you run into in a random event. He is attacked by bandits and you should save him. If you can do that, you will receive the card.
- If you can't save him alive, just examine his body and get the card as well.
- You can usually activate this event by riding through Walton's house through the desert to the city in the "Political Realities in Armadillo" mission instead of teleporting by campfire. You can then search for the individual treasures after the event.
Find all hidden treasures in Read Dead Redemption
Before you can raise a treasure, you always need the right treasure map, even if you know exactly where it is. Therefore, you must first catch the treasure hunter and then raise the treasures in the correct order. You can always find the card for the next treasure directly from its predecessor.
- The first map shows the front and the back of "The Hanging Rock" on the left - recognizable by the tree with the rope - which you can find north of Armadillo. Walk between the rocks from behind and you will find the treasure there.
- The second map takes you to "Del Lobo Rock" at the "Río del Lobo" south of Armadillo. Ride up the slope to the campfire and you will see the gap through which you can reach the treasure at the southern end. Move over the slope as described on the map from III to IV and after a few slides you should have found the treasure. The treasure is at medium height, so do not sprint straight down the entire slope.
- The third treasure can be found in Tumbleweed's villa. It is located in the basement, which you can enter directly via the trap door on the back of the house. The pile of stones you are looking for is easy to spot under a cattle skull.
- The fourth treasure takes you to the riverside in "Rio del Toro". Take the street that runs parallel to the river. Ride down the road and look south for a stand-alone tree adorned with a cattle skull. It is located approximately at the western end of the small promontory that you can see on the map above the name "Rio del Toro". Once you have found the tree, cross the street. You will find the treasure exactly opposite on the other wall of the street (towards the river). Now that you have reached the fifth treasure hunter rank, you will not only be rewarded with gold, but you can also travel free of charge by stagecoach.
- The fifth treasure is hidden in the "crooked toes". Climb the big rock formation. Once at the top, you will find the treasure between the two peaks.
- You will find treasure number six south of Chuparosa at the "Ojo del Diablo". He is on a ledge with a few larger stones. You can reach it by riding through the devil's eye, then climbing the less steep slope on the right and now going back to the treasure at the right height.
- Ride to the "Roca de Madera" and dismount to prevent your horse from dying in the next step. Stand next to the striking rocks and follow the course of the river to the west with your eye. You will discover an inconspicuous path under a ledge where you can hike to the treasure.
- To the east of "Beecher's Hope" you will find the striking "broken tree" that you can see on the map. Examine the small stone wall on the tree and the treasure is yours. However, you must be able to enter the "Great Plains" before you can mine this treasure.
- From the road north of "Tall Trees" follow the path up to "Nekoti Rock". At the top of the mountain you will find a bear cave, in which a chest and the treasure you are looking for are hidden. If you're also trying to become a master hunter, you'll also find Brumas the Bear here.
