Redmi Note 4: hard reset - how it works
With the Redmi Note 4, you can perform a hard reset if the smartphone stops responding. Our instructions show you step by step exactly how to do this.
Hard reset on Redmi Note 4
If you have problems with the Redmi Note 4, you can perform a hard reset.
- First, make sure your Redmi 4 is turned off. If the display is still lit, press and hold the power button for several seconds until the display goes out.
- Then press the power button and the volume up button on the right side of the smartphone.
- Keep the two buttons pressed until the display lights up. You will now see the Mi logo.
- You can now use the volume up button to select Recovery Mode in the menu.
- Navigate to "Wipe Reset" with the volume buttons and then confirm with the power button.
- Then you have to navigate to the menu item "Wipe All Data" again with the volume buttons and confirm the selection with the power button.
- A final query now appears, which you must confirm with "Yes". This also works again with the power button.

Please note that a hard reset deletes all data. We therefore recommend that you regularly create a backup.
