Create regression analysis in Excel
With a regression analysis, you can analyze large amounts of data in mathematics under Excel. We show you here how you can use this procedure.
Excel: Activate add-ins for regression analysis
To create a regression analysis, you first have to activate the required add-in in Excel:
- To do this, start Excel and click on "File" above.
- Go to "Options" and then to "Add-Ins".
- If the "Analysis functions" add-in is not listed under "Active application add-ins", click on "Go to ..." next to "Excel add-ins".
- Check the "Analysis functions" box and confirm with "OK".
Create regression analysis in Excel
- Switch back to the table and fill it with your data.
- To do this, at least two columns must be filled. When you're done, click the "Data" tab at the top and then "Data Analysis".
- Select the "Regression" option here and click "OK".
- Now you need to set the Y and X input range. To do this, click on the button next to the input field and mark the respective area by holding down the left mouse button and dragging the mouse downwards.
- You can then make further settings.
- You can also choose a range for the output. After clicking "OK", the output is displayed where you set it.
