Resident Evil 7 does not start - so you fix the error
- First, make sure you have the latest driver for your graphics card installed. To check this, go to the manufacturer's website or start Windows Update. You will find a folder called "CommonRedist" in the installation folder of Resident Evil 7. There you will find an installation file for the latest version of DirectX.
- In order for the game to work properly, you also need the latest version of Visual Studio C ++. You can find them in our download portal.
- If you installed the game via Steam, go to the folder "Steam \ SteamApps \ common \ ResidentEvil7 \ _CommonRedist \ vcredist \" and run the tool "vcredist_64.exe" so that the "Redistributables File" is updated by Steam,
- Right click on the game in Steam and select "Properties". There you have the possibility to "check the game files for errors".
- In some cases it may be sufficient if you run the game as an administrator. To do this, right-click on the shortcut and select "Run as administrator".
