In this article we explain how you can play Rocket League on Linux. The popular game was released in July 2015 for Windows. Since it was such a success, the developers quickly started to port Rocket League for Linux and macOS.
As of September 8, 2016, Rocket League will be available as a beta for Linux
September 8 was the deadline for the Linux and macOS beta of Rocket League. Once you've purchased the game on Steam, you can download the beta. The final release should have happened by the end of 2016.
- Officially, the only supported Linux is SteamOS. Since this is built on Debian, other Debian distributions might work just as well.
- Since the Linux version is in beta, it will still have some bugs. So be patient and give developers time to patch the bugs over the next few months. Alternatively, you can simply wait for the final and bug-free version.
