Root & Unlock for Motorola Moto 360: preparations
The fact that the Moto 360 is charged wirelessly and synchronized wirelessly makes the root and unlock of the smartwatch a little more difficult.
- Therefore, in addition to sufficient time, you should also have enough experience rooting Android devices.
- The key to performing the steps is the "Moto 360 Super Tool".
- You can download this tool from the xda-developers forum.
- You must then unzip the downloaded file. Now open the "Drivers & Programs" subfolder. Select the 32 or 64 bit version of the Motorola driver - depending on the operating system installed.
- To be able to connect the Moto 360 to your PC afterwards, you need some work and technical know-how: In order to connect the watch to the computer via USB, you need a special adapter. Follow the illustrated instructions to build your own adapter.
- Alternatively, you can also try the detour using a Bluetooth connection via your smartphone, but experience has shown that the connection is not always stable, and sometimes the Moto 360 is not recognized at all.
- After connecting to the PC in any way, navigate to the settings of your Moto 360 and activate the developer options. To do this, you must confirm the "About" option and then repeatedly tap the "Build number" entry (usually six times).
- Then go to the new tab "Developer options" in the settings and activate the option "ADB debugging". On the smartphone that is connected to your Moto 360, you should now see a message regarding the activation of ADB debugging, which you confirm.
- Now return to your PC and test whether the drivers have been installed correctly. To do this, open the "Moto 360 Tools for Windows.bat" file.
- In this file the message "daemon started successfully" and your Moto 360 should appear under "list of devices attached".
- Afterwards you should see various options after confirming with "Enter" in turquoise font, choose the first one, so enter "1" and confirm with "Enter".
- In the next request, enter "2" for the "Driver Test" and confirm again with "Enter". Your device should now appear.
- Press "Enter" and then press any key to start your device in Fastboot mode. A corresponding message should appear on the watch screen, including a code.
- Tap "Enter" twice more, your Moto 360 should now be displayed again, now with the addition "fastboot". From this, you conclude that these Fastboot drivers are also functional for the next steps.
- Press any key to restart your Moto 360.
