Disable router firewall - how it works
You can deactivate the router firewall if, for example, a console cannot connect to the Internet. However, you should be aware that deactivation poses a security risk for all PCs connected to the router.
Disable router firewall
- Call up the router menu in any browser. To do this, enter the IP address of your router in the address bar and confirm with [Enter]. Abbreviations such as "fritz.box", "easy.box" or "speedport.ip" also work for some models. Read here how to find out your router's IP address.
- You may need to enter a password to access the router user interface. You will find it in your contract documents.
- Now search for the "Firewall" setting item. This is usually located under "Internet" or "Settings".
- Here you can now deactivate your router firewall and save the changes.
- Don't forget to reactivate the firewall later.
