Take number with 1 & 1 - so it works
The number portability at 1 & 1 is largely taken over by the provider himself. However, there are a few things you should keep in mind so that the port works smoothly.
Take number 1 & 1 with you: contract customers
- First, cancel your old contract. Cancellation templates for many providers can be found in our download area. The notice period for most providers is three months.
- Order a new contract or a prepaid card from 1 & 1. When ordering, you indicate that you want to take your old number with you.
- Please note that all personal details such as address and date of birth must match those of your old provider.
- The old provider usually charges a fee of between 25 and 30 euros for the number portability. However, 1 & 1 will credit you with 25 euros so that you don't have to pay the costs.
Take number 1 & 1 with you: prepaid customers
As a prepaid customer, you can take your number to 1 & 1 with you. It does not matter whether you choose a prepaid or a contract tariff.
- First send a waiver to your old provider.
- Inquire about the costs incurred by your provider for porting and top up your prepaid card accordingly.
- Now specify when ordering from 1 & 1 that you want to take your phone number with you.
- 1 & 1 will credit you with 25 euros.
