Call number transfer to O2 - here you will find all information
Luckily, taking numbers with you to O2 is fairly straightforward. All you have to do is cancel your old contract in good time and give O2 your old number and your provider. Incidentally, this also works if your old contract is still running.
Number portability after the contract term
If you sign a new contract with O2 and want to take your old number with you, please state this when you sign the contract. You can also add a phone number to an existing contract with O2. The procedure is the same.
- Make sure that all the data you enter when you sign a contract with O2 must be identical to your data with the old provider.
- With O2 you have the choice between a new number or a number portability when concluding the contract. Alternatively, you can take your phone number into an existing contract here.
- You should request that the number be transferred at the latest four weeks after the end of the contract, since the old provider can then reassign the number.
Number portability from existing contract
You can also have your number ported to O2 before the contract ends. Your old provider will then assign you a new number.
- The contract with the existing provider continues unchanged with the new number.
- You have to make an application to take your number with your existing provider. Here it depends on the provider whether this must be done in writing or not. It is best to inquire by phone how to proceed.
- If you have a porting confirmation from your provider, you can simply apply for the number portability with O2. Either when concluding the contract or in the O2 customer center.
Attention: costs with the old provider
Please note that the old provider always incurs costs for the number portability that you have to bear. The costs are usually between 15 and 30 euros. The best way to find out more is to call your old provider.
