This error is displayed in earlier versions of Windows (Windows XP, Windows Vista) and can be corrected as follows:
- First check whether there are updates for your PC. To do this, start Windows Update and click on "Check for updates". Install all available updates.
- Many users report that this problem is caused by a previously installed program. To do this, open "Control Panel"> "Programs and Features" and search the list for previously installed programs.
- Try uninstalling the programs that you installed last and then restarting your PC.
- A virus can often cause such an error. Therefore, run a full scan of your system with an anti-virus program like AntiVir.
- You can also try to reset Windows earlier. You can do that with "System Restore". You can find this in the start menu under "Accessories"> "System programs".
- The error message can also appear if you run two antivirus programs on the PC at the same time. If so, you should uninstall an antivirus from PC.
