Rust: Server commands for multiplayer mode
There are already a lot of server commands for the multiplayer survival game Rust. But you only really need a fraction of it. In this practical tip, we will show you the most important control commands for managing your game server.
The most important server commands for Rust
To use the commands, you need a server and the associated RCON password. You can either get this from your server provider or you can set it with the command "rcon.password" XXX "". Then connect to the game server and press the [F1] key to open the console.
- rcon.login XXX: Log in to the server with your password.
- status: The command lists all current players on your Rust server.
- find *: This will show you all available commands.
- banid "SteamID" "Reason": Bans a player from your server using his Steam ID. The reasoning makes it easier to remember the incident later. Tip: You still have to kick the player because a ban only rejects the reconnection.
- banlistex: The command lists all previously assigned bans.
- kick "player": Throws the specified player out of the game using his name ("player").
- server.pvp true / false: With this you can switch on ("true") or switch off ("false") whether your server guests can injure each other.
- airdrop.min_players "Number": Determine the minimum number of players "Airdrops" are to be started.
- dmg.godmode true / false: This server command makes all administrators logged on to the server invulnerable.
- server.steamgroup "Steamgroup ID": If you have a corresponding Steam group with all players who are to use your server exclusively, you can enter the corresponding ID here.
The commands were tested with the Rust Patch from March 18th, 2014. If you don't have a server yet, this practical tip will show you how to create your own rust server.
