Ryanair: cell phone on a plane - what is allowed?
If you have booked a flight with Ryanair, you may not want to do without your mobile phone on the plane. We'll tell you what's allowed and what's not on board Ryanair.
Mobile phone on a plane: What can Ryanair take with me?
- Basically, you can take all of the handy electronic devices on board with Ryanair. These include smartphones, tablets, e-readers, portable DVD players and laptops.
- During takeoff and landing, you must put all electronic devices into flight mode. This prevents interference in the mobile network. However, you can use your cell phone at any time.
- Only larger devices such as laptops may only be used once you have reached the altitude. Charging your batteries is also allowed. However, you will not find a USB port in all aircraft.
Ryanair: Is there WiFi in the plane?
- Ryanair completely does without WiFi on its flights. This service is currently not planned. However, there are ways to communicate with the outside world through the clouds.
- You can receive and send SMS and MMS via a roaming provider. A basic internet connection is also sufficient to receive e-mails.
- The costs vary depending on the mobile operator. If you exit flight mode after take-off, you will receive an SMS with the respective costs within a few minutes.
