Safari: Disable iCloud tabs - Here's how
You can disable iCloud tabs in Safari at any time on iOS and on your Mac OS X. Unfortunately, all other user data stored in the cloud will also be removed. In this practical tip, we will show you what you need to consider.
Disable iCloud tabs on iPhone and iPad
If you want to turn off iCloud tabs on iOS, you need to turn off synchronization with Safari. Please note that in addition to your iCloud tabs, all other data saved in the cloud, such as passwords, history and favorites, are also deleted.
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Scroll down a bit and tap on the "iCloud" item.
- Toggle the green switch next to "Safari".
- In the next step, decide whether you want to keep or delete the Safari data on your device.
Turn off syncing with Safari on Mac OS X.
On a Mac, you can turn off syncing your iCloud tabs in three steps:
- Open the "System Settings".
- Go to the iCloud control panel.
- Remove the tick next to the entry "Safari".
- Please note: All bookmarks, favorites and passwords saved in your iCloud will also be lost. The data on your Mac will not be removed.
