Safari reader feature for Chrome
The reader feature in the Safari browser is useful. Unfortunately, there is no such thing in Google Chrome by default. With a small extension you can retrofit the feature.
An extension brings the reader to Google Chrome
You can easily install the reader feature as an extension:
- Go to the free "iReader" extension in the Chrome Web Store.
- Then install it by clicking on "Free" and then confirming the installation with "Add".
- You can now switch to the reader view by clicking on the "iReader" icon in the address bar at the top. The text then opens in a layer - just as you are used to from Safari.
The practical tip relates to Windows 7 and Google Chrome version 29.0.1547.57 m.
