If the Safari browser suddenly does not start, various causes can be responsible. Read here what you can do in this case.
You can do this if Safari doesn't start
Some of our tips will help you fix the problem:
- First of all, you should make sure that you have the latest version of the browser installed on your Mac or PC.
- You can find the latest version for Mac or PC in our download portal.
- You could also try to completely uninstall the browser. Then download and reinstall the latest version.
- On Mac, you can also try to repair the access rights of the hard drive. To do this, open the "Hard Disk Utility" and select the hard disk on the left.
- Then click on "Check volume access rights" (see picture). Any errors are automatically corrected.
- Of course, you should always download and install updates for your operating system. Outdated systems are quickly the target of cyber attacks or viruses.
Other solutions: Safari does not start
- Basically, you should only install plugins that you trust.
- It is also advisable to regularly delete the browser's cache and cookies.
- Sometimes it can happen that the browser does not start due to connected hardware. Therefore remove all connected hardware and try again.
