Safari: switch tabs
With Safari 8, Apple has not only given Mac users a new way to switch between open tabs. The new preview function shows all tabs as miniature windows, whereby the opened pages of a website are clearly displayed and bundled. How you call this function and what alternatives you have, you can read in this practical tip.
Switch Safari tabs via the preview
At the latest when you have opened more than 10 tabs in Safari, the entries in the browser's table bar are less and less helpful. In this case, the preview function in Safari 8 helps:
- In the Safari menu bar you will find the icon for the preview function (two squares one above the other). With one click you open the preview.
- In the opened overview, you can quickly switch to the desired tab by simply clicking on the corresponding page.
- Tip: If you want to switch between different tabs in Safari even faster without working with the mouse, simply use a keyboard shortcut: Use the key combination [Ctrl] + [Tab] to switch to the next tab, with the combination [Ctrl ] + [Shift] + [Tab] call up the previous tab.
This practical tip relates to Safari 8.02 and Mac OS Yosemite 10.10.1. For even more surfing fun, read how to make the Safari browser faster.
