Use salt against ants - how it works
Ants are actually useful insects. They eliminate vermin and other annoying creepy crawlies in the garden. On the balcony or in the house, however, they are often considered unwanted intruders. Read here whether salt helps against ants.
So salt can be used against ants
Ants cannot be killed with normal table salt; instead, use the deer horn salt raising agent. We'll show you how to use it against ants.
- If you mix the deer horn salt with sugar, the ants will be attracted by the sweet smell.
- If the ants absorb the mixture, small amounts of ammonia are released and the insects die.
- If you don't have deer horn salt in the house, you can achieve the same results with baking soda or baking soda.
- If you prefer not to kill the ants, use vinegar or lemon juice as a defense.
- Since ants have a very sensitive sense of smell, both home remedies act as a deterrent and the animals turn around.
