Root Samsung Galaxy Alpha - how it works
If you want to get the most out of your Samsung Galaxy Alpha, you should root the smartphone. We'll show you exactly how to do this.
- In order to have full access to the smartphone, you need the Samsung USB driver.
- The "Auto Root Package" for the Samsung Galaxy Alpha SM-G850F or SM-G850M contains the files required for rooting.
- The Samsung Galaxy Alpha is rooted with the Odin tool. However, this is already included in a modified version in the Auto Root Package. So please do not download it again.
Step 3: prepare your computer and smartphone
- Connect the Samsung Galaxy Alpha to your computer using the USB cable and wait for it to be recognized. Then remove it.
- Create a new folder on your desktop called "Odin". Open the Auto Root Package and copy all the files it contains into the folder you just created.
- For full access, you must also activate USB debugging in the settings.
Step 4: root Samsung Galaxy Alpha
- Simultaneously hold down the home button, power button and volume down button for about 10 seconds and then switch off the device.
- You will see a warning on the screen after a few seconds. Confirm this by pressing the volume up key. The smartphone is now in download mode.
- Start the "odin.exe" file from the "Odin" folder. Now connect the Galaxy Alpha to your computer again.
- Right click on the "PDA" button and select the Auto Root Package from your computer.
- The root process begins with the "Start" button. After a few seconds, a green field with the inscription "PASS!" Appears in the top left of the window.
- Wait until the Samsung Galaxy Alpha starts again and disconnect from the computer.
- If you want to check whether your smartphone is really rooted, download the Root Checker app.
- Note: On the Samsung Galaxy Alpha you will find the "Super Su" app for managing the root. Here you can undo the root, among other things.
