Samsung Galaxy Gear VR: Take a screenshot - Here's how
With the Samsung Galaxy Gear VR you can take a screenshot to capture the contents of the screen. How this works with VR glasses is shown in this short guide.
Screenshot with the Samsung Galaxy Gear VR
If you have the Samsung Galaxy Gear VR in operation, your smartphone is of course in the holder. Still, you can take a screenshot:
- Long press the [Back] button on the right side of the glasses (above the navigation field).
- Now a menu opens. Select the item "Utilities" and then press "Screenshot".
- You now have three seconds to focus on the desired screen content.
- The screenshot is saved in the gallery after the shot. From there you can send the picture, for example, by email or WhatsApp.
Galaxy Gear VR: Record screencast videos
You can also record a video of the virtual content. Of course, this is usually saved in 2D so that you can show it to friends without VR glasses as well.
- Open the Oculus menu here too by pressing the [Back] button on the right side of the glasses.
- Then open the "Recording" menu and select "Video".
- You will then immediately be returned to the VR app you were in - the recording is now underway. You can see this by the red dot in the top right corner.
- You can finish the recording later by holding the [Back] button again.
- You will then find the recording in your gallery.
