Samsung Galaxy Reboot: Smartphone only starts up to the Samsung logo
With a reboot on models of the Samsung Galaxy brand, it can happen that the smartphone gets stuck at the manufacturer's logo when restarting. Here's what you can do in this case.
Option one: Clear the cache of the Samsung Galaxy smartphone
The first thing to try is to clear the smartphone cache. Here's how:
- Turn off the phone. If that doesn't work, remove the battery and put it back in after a few seconds.
- Hold the volume button towards "up" and the power button. In addition, press the menu key until you are in recovery mode.
- Use the volume key to navigate to "wipe cache partition" and confirm this with the menu key.
- After the process is complete, your clipboard is deleted. A long press on the power button should restart the smartphone. If that still depends on the Samsung logo, try a hard reset, which is described in variant two.
Option two: hard reset for the Samsung Galaxy
Hard reset means completely resetting the smartphone to the factory settings. Although data such as photos, videos etc. are retained in the internal memory, apps and the associated data are lost. These can be saved beforehand on a microSD card or similar. You can find out how to do this here.
- Again you have to start in the recovery mode with the key combination volume "up", power button and menu key.
- This time use the volume button to select "wipe data / factory reset" and confirm with "yes".
- Then go to "wipe cache partition". Under "advanced" select "wipe davlik cache".
- Now restart your smartphone. Since you have reset the smartphone, the first restart may take a little longer.
This method works with all smartphones in the Samsung Galaxy range. For some models, there are also certain tricks with which you can perform the hard reset faster and easier - for example, the Samsung Galaxy S3.
