If the headphone input of your SGS3 or Samsung Galaxy S3 does not work, this does not always have to indicate a defect. You can read what you can do in this case in our practical tip.
Galaxy S3: Headphone input doesn't work - you can do that
It is usually very easy to determine whether your headphone input is really defective:
- Take a look at the connection. There may be dust or dirt in the jack and your headphones may not be recognized.
- Therefore, carefully blow some air into the socket. Alternatively, you can use an air pump.
- If your SGS3 does not recognize the headphones, they may also be defective. If you have other headphones on hand, try them out.
- There may also be a loose contact. Therefore, carefully move the connector back and forth until you receive a signal. Also make sure your phone and media volume are not muted.
- You can also try restarting the smartphone. This will remove any errors from memory.
- As a last resort, you can reset the SGS3 to factory settings. You should note that all data will be lost.
- If you still have a guarantee on the device, you can replace it with a new smartphone. Before doing so, however, you should back up your personal data.
