Samsung Galaxy S5: change battery - how it works
The battery of the Samsung Galaxy S5 is easy to change and has a capacity of 3, 200 mAh. After a while, however, it may be worth changing the battery. We explain how this works in the following instructions.
Galaxy S5: Buy the right replacement battery
It is important that you select the right battery for your smartphone, otherwise there may be a short circuit. That would put the expensive device over.
- The product name of the original battery is EB-BG900BBEGWW. The battery is available in the Samsung store for around 25 euros.
- There are also third-party providers that offer replacement batteries, such as mumbi. Such a battery costs about 17 euros, but only has 3, 000 mAh.
Samsung Galaxy S5: Insert the battery
To insert the new battery, the cover on the back must be removed and the old battery removed.
- First switch off the device.
- Turn the smartphone over. There is a small gap in the upper left corner of the cover. Use your fingernail to gently pry the cover up and then detach it from the device.
- The back cover is extremely flexible, so you usually don't have to worry about breakage.
- Remove the battery by prying it out from below.
- Then insert the new battery and close the cover.
- Now you can switch the device on again with the new battery.
