Samsung Galaxy S5: fingerprint scanner does not work - what to do?

- First switch the device off and on again. In many cases this solves the problem.
- If you use a Microsoft Exchange account, this may block the sensor. The sensor is only accepted with the appropriate security policy settings on the Exchange server.
Repair fingerprint scanner on the Galaxy S5
If you have set up a second unlocking method, simply deactivate the sensor in the settings and set it up again. If you can’t unlock your smartphone at all, follow these instructions:
- Open the website of the Google Play Store and log in to your account. Click on the "Devices" category on the left and select the Galaxy S5. If you have the device locked here with a code, you can then unlock the S5 with this code.
