Connect Samsung Galaxy S5 to TV - how it works
If you want to transfer your photos and films from your Samsung Galaxy S5 to the TV, you have to connect the two devices. We show you how this works in this guide.
Connect Samsung Galaxy S5 to TV via HDMI
The transmission via HDMI cable works smoothly and without problems. The following instructions can also be carried out with the Galaxy S2, S3, and S4.
- Every modern TV set has an HDMI input. The connection is quickly established using an HDMI cable and a suitable adapter.
- An HDMI cable is available for around 6 euros on Amazon. An HDMI adapter costs between 13 and 20 euros.
WLAN: Connect Samsung Galaxy S5 to TV
The Miracast function has been on board since Android 4.2. Using Miracast, content can also be transmitted to suitable TV sets via WLAN.
- With Samsung Link you can transfer your content wirelessly to the TV. However, this currently only works with some Samsung Smart TVs.
- Alternatively, you can use the Samsung Link Cast Dongle. This is a small receiver that you connect to your TV using an HDMI cable. The data is then sent to the dongle via WLAN and transferred to the television. This costs around 50 euros on Amazon.
- Another option is to connect via Chromecast. This stick behaves similarly to the Samsung Link Cast Dongle. It costs around 35 euros at Amazon.
