Samsung Galaxy S5: measure your heart rate - how it works
With a Samsung Galaxy S5 you can measure your pulse even without any other devices. We'll show you how it's done.
Samsung Galaxy S5: measure your heart rate
There are numerous apps that you can use to measure your heart rate on your smartphone. In this manual we use the "S Health" app, as it is already preinstalled on the Galaxy S5.
- First find and start the preinstalled "S Health" app.
- The first time you use the app, you need to create a profile. Here you have to enter your weight, height and age.
- Once you have created your profile, tap the "Heart rate" button at the bottom of the "S Health" start screen.
- Now place your index finger on the sensor below the camera (see picture). Keep your finger steady, as centered as possible and not too strong on the sensor.
- After a short wait, your current pulse is displayed. The measurement is done in BPM (beats per minute).
- Tip: It is best to take two measurements in a row so that you can rely on the test result. Even the smallest movements during measurement can falsify the result.
