Samsung Galaxy S6: replace battery - is that possible?
The battery of the Samsung Galaxy S6 can be replaced, but it's not as easy as its predecessors. We'll show you how it's done.
Exchange the battery of the Samsung Galaxy S6 - how it works
With the Galaxy S6, Samsung no longer relies on a plastic back cover. This may look nicer, but it is much more difficult to change the battery. Samsung itself recommends replacement only for repair services, but you can also find the instructions in the manual for the Galaxy S6.
- First, remove the back of the Galaxy S6. You will probably need a suction cup for this.
- If you have removed the back cover, you will find a total of 13 screws on the edge of the smartphone. Loosen all these screws, but remember which one belongs where.
- If all screws are loosened, the board can be removed as a complete unit.
- You will now see the battery. Carefully detach the cable on the battery from the mainboard and remove it. You may have to release it with a little pressure.
- You can then insert the new battery and repeat the steps backwards.
- Note: You can find suitable tools in this repair set, for example.
