Samsung Galaxy S6: delete apps - how it works
The Samsung Galaxy S6 again contains a lot of pre-installed apps. We'll show you how to delete the apps from your S6.
Samsung Galaxy S6: delete annoying apps
You can't use the smartphone without apps - but for many, most of the pre-installed apps are annoying. Samsung allows deleting pre-installed Microsoft and Google apps and even computers and recorders on the Galaxy S6.
- To do this, open the menu on your Galaxy S6.
- In the menu you will find a small cog that you tap.
- You can now see that for most apps there is a small minus in the top right corner. With one click you can delete these apps.
- For security, you have to confirm the question again so that you do not accidentally delete an app.
Galaxy S6: hide / hide apps instead of deleting them
Instead of deleting apps, you can simply hide them. The app doesn't bother you in the menu, but you can still use it as a widget or otherwise. However, please note that the apps will still take up storage space.
- To do this, first go back to the menu.
- With the menu open, press the Options button (three narrow lines) and select "Hide / Show apps".
- Now you can use a checklist to select which apps you want to hide or show.
- Confirm the changes with OK.
Disable: Disable annoying apps
If you cannot delete an app, you can at least deactivate it. For example, you will no longer receive notifications from this app.
- To do this, call up the settings in the menu and select the "Applications" item.
- Make sure that you are in the "All" tab and find the app you want.
- First select the app and then click "Deactivate".
Total control: delete system apps by root
- With root rights, you have full access to the Android system and can thus completely remove any app.
- To do this, you must first root your Galaxy S6.
- You can then use an app to uninstall system apps.
- Warning: If you delete the wrong apps, your Galaxy S6 may no longer work. That's why you should read our guide to system apps.
By the way: You can also charge your Samsung Galaxy S6 wirelessly. In the next practical tip, we'll explain how it's done.
