Samsung Galaxy S6: remove branding - Here's how
If you are bothered by the branding of your Samsung Galaxy S6, you can remove it in just a few steps. Find out exactly how this works here.
Remove branding from Samsung Galaxy S6 - you should note that
- You can only remove branding if you play or "flash" a free, unbranded software version via Odin on the device.
- Note that your smartphone may be damaged if something goes wrong during the implementation.
- Since all data is lost during flashing, you should first create a backup of all files.
Remove branding from Samsung Galaxy S6 - search for company goods
In order for the flash to work properly, you first need the correct company goods. On the SamMobile.com page you will find the suitable firmware for your device. Simply enter the model number of your smartphone and download the package.
- Make sure that you download the current company version.
- To find out which company goods are currently installed, enter the code "* # 1234 #" and confirm it with the handset button.
- Write down the output. This code contains a time stamp of the company goods. The third last position stands for the year and the penultimate position stands for the month of the company goods. The higher the letter in the alphabet, the later the year or month (e.g. ALI = 2012).
- Therefore, look for a company product that is the same or higher than the currently installed one, so that no problems occur.
