Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge: hard reset - how it works
You can completely reset your Samsung Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge with a hard reset using a key combination and thus fix minor errors. In this practical tip, we will show you how to do this.
Reset Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge via hard reset
Before you reset your Samsung Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge, you should back up your data. A hard reset also only works if you have not changed the password of your mobile phone within the past 72 hours. Otherwise you have to wait for this period of time before you can perform the hard reset.
- First switch off your Samsung Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge.
- Now press the "Volume Up" button, the "Off / On" button and the Home button at the same time. The Android symbol appears and you will be redirected to a menu after a few seconds.
- Now use the "Volume Up" or "Volume Down" buttons to select the "wipe data / factory reset" item. Confirm with the "On / Off" button.
- Navigate to "Yes - delete all user data" and confirm this selection with the "On / Off" button. Your smartphone will automatically restart and Android will be reset. If everything is successful, the message "Data wipe complete" appears.
- Restart your cell phone and select "reboot system now" with the "On / Off" button.
- Tip: Alternatively, you can also dial the number * 2767 * 3855 # to reset your cell phone.
