Galaxy S7: Quad HD uses up battery unnecessarily
The new smartphones from Samsung, the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, dissolve with Quad HD, i.e. with 2, 560 × 1, 440 pixels. However, the difference to Full HD with 1, 920 x 1, 080 pixels is barely visible to the naked eye.
- The higher resolution consumes an unnecessarily large battery capacity. With Full HD, the Galaxy S7 would last longer.
- As of Android 7.0 or 7.1, you can manually set the resolution and save battery. By default, Samsung sets Full HD.
- The lower resolution not only saves battery, but also computing capacity - the Galaxy S7 should therefore run faster under Android 7 than before.
