Samsung Galaxy S7: move apps to the SD card
If the internal memory of the Samsung Galaxy S7 is not enough, you can move selected apps to the SD card. We show you how to do it and what you should consider.
Galaxy S7: move apps to the SD card
- The standard version of the Galaxy S7 comes with 32 GB of internal memory. Around 8 GB of this is already used for the system.
- Samsung has given the S7 a slot for a microSD card. Memory cards can hold up to 200 GB of data here.
- You can get an SD card with 128 GB of storage from Amazon for around 35 euros. This is much cheaper than the handle to the 128 GB model of the Galaxy S7.
- All apps can be moved to the SD card, with the exception of pre-installed system apps. If the SD card is not in the device, the moved apps cannot be started and are grayed out.
- Tip: Alternatively, you can activate "Adoptable Storage" on the Galaxy S7. This extends the internal memory with the SD card. Moving is no longer necessary.
