Samsung Galaxy S7: Reset to factory settings
You should always reset the Samsung Galaxy S7 (i.e. reset it to the factory settings) whenever you want to sell it. But even if it doesn't want to do as you do, a reset to factory settings is worthwhile. Then all the app and files are deleted and you can start again.
Reset Samsung Galaxy S7 via the menu
If your S7 is still working properly, you can easily reset it using the menu. Please note that you should make a backup of your data beforehand. Otherwise they are gone after the reset.
- First open the settings.
- Then select "Backup and reset".
- Now you have to tap on "Reset to factory settings".
- First confirm with "Reset device" (see picture) and then consent to the deletion of your data.
Reset Samsung Galaxy S7 with a key command
If you cannot access the menu or your cell phone does not respond, you can perform the reset using a key combination:
- Press and hold the [Volume Up] key, the [Power] button and the [Home] key until the Samsung logo appears.
- Now a menu opens in which you can navigate with the volume keys. Select the entry "wipe data / factory reset" and confirm with the [Power] button.
- Finally, you have to confirm the process with "YES - delete all user data".
- Now wait for your phone to reset and restart.
