Samsung Galaxy S9: change battery - how it works
Replacing the battery yourself on the Samsung Galaxy S9 is quite demanding because it is built deep into the device. If you still want to carry out the repair yourself, you will find instructions from us.
Open the device: Change the battery on the Samsung Galaxy S9
In order to be able to change the battery of the Samsung Galaxy S9, you need a new battery, a tool or opening tool set for Samsung Galaxy smartphones and a hair dryer.
- Turn off the Galaxy S9 and have all the necessary items ready. Ensure a straight and clean work surface on which you can, for example, sort screws clearly.
- Take the hair dryer at hand and hold it on the edges of the device. The heat dissolves the adhesive better, which closes the housing. It is best to only warm up a certain area at first.
- Place the suction cup on the back of the device.
- Slide the pick between the slots in the housing and help with the suction cup.
- Once you've got the pick in the slot, gradually open the case using the hair dryer and pick by prying it open.
- Be careful - the fingerprint sensor is connected to the back of the case. So only lift the back a little.
- Use the flattened plastic tool to remove the fingerprint sensor and set the back wall of the case aside.
Disassemble the smartphone
As soon as the device is open, you have to remove some parts before you can change the battery of the Samsung Galaxy S9.
- First remove the middle frame. To do this, loosen all ten screws in the top two thirds and then remove the middle cover.
- Now you can see the battery of the Samsung Galaxy S9. Disconnect by loosening the conductor on the top of the battery with the flattened plastic tool. Do not skip this step, otherwise a short circuit may occur.
- Now remove the five screws in the bottom third of the device to remove the speakers.
- Remove the film from the new battery and insert the battery into the Galaxy S9. Glue it to the housing. If no adhesive strips are included, use narrow strips of double-sided adhesive tape.
- Now follow the instructions backwards to reassemble the device.
