Samsung Galaxy Tab: set up printer
If you want to set up a printer for your Samsung Galaxy Tab, you need a suitable app. We'll show you the options.
Samsung Galaxy Tab: Set up printers with manufacturer apps
Many manufacturers of network printers offer a suitable Android app for their device. Therefore, search for your network printer in the Google Play Store.
- Start the Google Play Store and enter the name of the printer manufacturer in the search bar.
- Load the appropriate app onto your Galaxy Tab. After opening the app, set up the connection to the printer. Simply let the app search for the printer. If your printer cannot be found via WLAN, the reason for this can be a LAN connection of the printer. Then it cannot be found by the app in the WLAN. Switching the router corrects the problem.
- As soon as the printer has been found by the app, you can print. However, not every printer app supports every file format. Some apps only print image formats.
Samsung Galaxy Tab: Printing with Cloud Print via Google Chrome
If you do not have a network printer or the manufacturer does not offer its own app in the store, you can still send data from your Samsung Galaxy Tab to the printer. However, you need a PC and a Google account:
- The easiest way to print with your Galaxy Tab on a printer without an internet connection is Google Cloud Print in conjunction with the Chrome browser.
- Call up the "Settings" from the menu in the Chrome browser. Scroll all the way down and click on "Show advanced settings".
- In the next window you will find the item "Google Cloud Print". Click here on the "Manage" button and then on "Add Printer". The printers that are set up on your PC are displayed.
- Select the printer you want and share it so that you can control it later with the Samsung Galaxy Tab.
- Download the "CloudPrint" app to your Galaxy Tab. This will now send all print jobs from the Galaxy Tab to the printer. If your printer is not connected to the network, the PC must be switched on.
