In this guide, we explain how to control your Samsung camera remotely using a cell phone. This turns your smartphone into a wireless remote control for your Samsung cam.
Remote control Samsung Smart camera via smartphone
With the "Samsung Camera App" you can connect your camera to your iPhone or Android smartphone via WLAN or NFC. In this way, images from your camera can be saved on your smartphone in optimal quality without cables. You can also use your phone as a remote control to take photos.
- Download the "Samsung Smart Camera" app on your smartphone. You can find the app on Google Play for Android devices and iTunes for your iPhone. Open the app and turn on your camera.
- If your Android smartphone and your camera have NFC (this is indicated on the camera by a lettering), it is sufficient to hold the smartphone to one side of the camera to establish a connection. To do this, NFC must be activated on your smartphone in the settings under "Wireless & networks", "More" and "NFC".
- Alternatively, depending on the model, you can connect your camera to your smartphone using the "Wifi", "Remote Viewfinder" or "MobileLink" menu items. The camera then creates a WLAN with which you can connect to your smartphone via the "Smart Camera App".
- As soon as you are connected to your camera, you can take photos and make settings on your camera with your smartphone - perfect for family photos or professional selfies.
- Note: The remote control only works with Samsung smart cameras that were manufactured from 2013 - as of April 2015: DV150F, ST150F, WB200F, WB250F, WB30F, WB800F, WB350F, NX300, NX300M, NX30, NX mini, Galaxy Camera, Galaxy S4 zoom, Galaxy NX.
