That's why you should create a backup with Samsung Kies
- A data loss is particularly serious if you actually only have the majority of the data saved on your smartphone and thus lose appointments, addresses, photos, apps, tasks and reminders.
- Users of cloud services such as Google Photos, Google Contacts or Google Drive give the internet giant access to your data, but at the same time make the handling of the data more convenient.
- However, if you decide against such cloud solutions, a regular backup is required - at the latest, however, when you update your operating system. If this fails, a re-installation of the smartphone is usually necessary.
- Another advantage of data backup: If you buy a new mobile phone, you can easily transfer a large part of the data without having to do the setup again.
- Samsung itself offers various services to create such a smartphone backup.
- These include Samsung Kies, Samsung Cloud web storage, the Google account mentioned above and Samsung Smart Switch.
Create a backup with Samsung Kies
If you don't want to leave your content to Google or Samsung for data protection reasons, backup via Samsung Kies on the PC is the easiest way.
- First download Samsung Kies 3 and install the program.
- After installation, connect your Samsung smartphone to the PC using a USB cable.
- As a rule, Samsung Kies now recognizes your device and shows that the program and smartphone are connected.
- Then click on the "Backup / Restore" tab at the top of the screen.
- Then select the entry "Data backup" in the left menu. Now you have the option to choose which data should be backed up on the computer, such as photos, contacts or apps.
- If you want to create a complete backup, select "Select all elements". To complete the backup, click on the "Backup Copy" button in the top right.
- The program now backs up the required data from your smartphone. Your backup is now created via gravel.
Recover data with Samsung Kies
- To restore data, first connect your smartphone to the computer again. Select the device in Samsung Kies.
- Then click on the "Backup / Restore" tab and then select "Restore data".
- You can then select the data to be restored individually.
- You can see from the tick next to the respective file that the data has been successfully transferred.
- When the process is finished, a window appears with the message "Restore complete". By clicking on "Completed" you finally restart your mobile phone.
