Samsung TV: set up Steam Link - how it works
Thanks to the Steam Link app, you can stream games from your PC on the Samsung TV even without an external box. We show you how to set up the app.
Set up the Steam Link app on the Samsung TV
The only requirement for your Samsung TV is the model year. The app works with Samsung Smart TVs on all devices from 2016. We'll explain how to set up the Steam Link app step by step.
- Connect PC and TV to your home network via WLAN or (better) LAN.
- Open Steam on the PC.
- Find the Steam Link app on your Samsung Smart TV. Download them.
- Now open the app. You will be asked to connect the mouse / keyboard or a supported controller, such as the XBox One Controller, via USB. Select the appropriate input device.
- Now select "Add PC". Computers that have been added remain saved here.
- The app now searches the network for computers on which Steam is open. Select the appropriate PC.
- A PIN may now appear on your Samsung TV. Steam has opened an input window for this on the PC. Enter the PIN there.
- Now the television and computer are connecting. Steam appears in Big Picture mode on the TV. This completes the setup of the Steam Link app.
Netflix also works with Steam Link. You can find out how to install the streaming service in the next post.
